The Eclipse Foundation is one of the world’s largest open source software foundations, an international non-profit headquartered in Brussels that provides a business-friendly home for 400+ open source projects and 300+ member organisations. It is the organisation behind OCX (Open Community Experience), its flagship annual conference. Founded in 2004, the Foundation gives a global community of developers and companies a neutral, professionally governed environment to build open source software together.

The Eclipse Foundation AISBL is an international non-profit association headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. It provides our global community of individuals and organisations with a mature, scalable, and business-friendly environment for open source software collaboration and innovation. Supported by 300+ members, including many of the world’s leading technology companies, it is one of the largest open source foundations in the world.
What does the Eclipse Foundation do?
The Foundation hosts more than 400 open source projects (runtimes, tools, specifications and frameworks) and provides the governance, intellectual-property management and ecosystem development that let competing and collaborating organisations build shared technology with confidence.

Where is the Eclipse Foundation based?
The Eclipse Foundation is headquartered in Brussels, at the heart of Europe. Established as a Belgian international non-profit association (AISBL), it champions open source as a driver of digital sovereignty and innovation across Europe and worldwide. Brussels is also the home of OCX, the Foundation’s flagship conference.
The Eclipse Foundation & OCX
OCX (Open Community Experience) is the Eclipse Foundation’s flagship annual conference. Each spring it brings the Foundation’s global community to Brussels for three days of technical sessions, hands-on learning, and real-world problem solving across all its tracks, covering areas such as developer tooling, AI, automotive, open source compliance and research.
